STB Player features the entire “Software Stack” on the “STB” starting from an optimized “Linux Kernel” and optimized implementation of Mozilla browser and HAL/DAL layer. Above this layer a set of component and services bricks have been implemented that provide access to the backend services, content, data, resource provisioning, and consumption requirements. Above this layer sits a UI framework for Java Script and HTML application authoring environment. GAIAN middleware is unique in the fact that it includes a Targeted Advertising agent, a Social Networking Agent, and a CDK that exposes a Java Script API for 3rd party application authoring.
